“The media industry has announced at least 17,436 job cuts so far this year, marking the highest year-to-date level of cuts on record, according to a new report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas.”
How it’s going…
“Barstool Sports announced a round of layoffs at the company, an estimated 100 employees - or about 25% of its staff - will be cut after founder Dave Portnoy said the company needs to ‘break even.’”
“Roku announced it would lay off 10% of its workforce – about 300 people – in an effort to cut costs. This is Roku’s third round of layoffs in under a year. Shares of Roku surged more than 10% on the news.”
