Happy Monday Peaceniks, and welcome to my first-ever Cartographer’s Log Live.
Today, I held a livestream with film legend Ted Hope, brand guru Lauren zeinfeld, and social entrepreneur Elizabeth Joyce about the bidding war for Letterboxd.
Joyce has a plan to counter bids for Letterboxd from Netflix, Sony, A24, and Versant under the Public Benefit Corporation model - a for profit model that equalizes social good with good business.
What is Letterboxd really worth? Can Letterboxd be saved from enshittification? If so, is a PBC the way to do it? That’s what this session aimed to find out.
Thank you Courtney Romano, Amanda Sweikow, Rob Sheard, It's A Live! from Ed Wells, Sasha Santiago, and more than 125 others others who streamed into this livestream.
Join our next Cartographer’s Log Live, next Wednesday, September 2.
Cheers.
