In 2021, the Super Bowl was the ONLY TV Broadcast/Cable program that had a larger audience (92 million) than the AVERAGE audience for ALL 22 episodes of All In The Family in 1972 (66.9 million).
In fact, other than Super Bowl LV, no Broadcast/Cable program in 2021 had a larger audience than the AVERAGE viewership of all 22 episodes of the 20th ranked series in 1972, Bonanza (43 million). This includes the Olympics and The Oscars. The combined viewership of the top 21 single airing programs in 2021 is just 53% of the combined sustained, 22 WEEK AVERAGE of the top 21 shows in 1972 (plus Super Bowl VI).
