Dzień dobry War & Peaceniks!
I recently had the honor of hosting a workshop and presenting the Keynote at the European Broadcasting Union Media Summit - the association of European Public Service Media.
There, I spoke about the power of Yes, And: How Media organizations can avoid the Media Apocalypse now disintegrating the American Media Industrial Complex by handing control of their Media to their audiences.
In keeping with that doctrine, below is a link to my entire presentation (the slides), for premium Media War & Peace subscribers to download and digest. It includes brand new data from my partners at Ampere, PCH Insights, GWI and Hub Entertainment Research.
If you are not yet a Premium subscriber, please consider upgrading. We put a shit-ton of work into these presentations, and IMHO this presentation is at least worth clicking on the free trial.
And if you do not yet know the work of the EBU, I highly recommend learning about them. Members like BBC, ZDF, SVT, LRT et al, are examples of how all Media should be. Their content is the best in the world. Their News organizations have something the American Media do not: Trust. Their work is the major reason we know what’s actually happening in far off places like Ukraine - staff from Ukraine’s Public Service Media outlet SuspilneNews literally risk their lives doing their jobs (note the dude on the far left of this pic).
I cannot articulate how thankful I am to have participated in this Summit, nor how large an impact it had on my view of the power and responsibility of Media. If you want to know how the American News industry can pull itself out of its trust spiral, look no further than the EBU.
Enjoy the week.
