The classic cliché about real estate says that the three most important things are: Location, Location, Location. (The axiom is credited to Harold Samuel, but it seems no one really knows who said it first).

A different cliché, Think Globally, Act Locally, was coined by a Scottish town planner, named Patrick Geddes, and has since come to be used by climate activists as a way to urge people to save the planet.

Inspired by these two truisms, I decided to coin my own clichéd axioms for the New (post Netflix meltdown) Streaming Wars:

  1. Localization, Localization, Localization.

  2. Stream Globally, Program Locally.

Adhering to these concepts will not only help various streamers survive, there’s a chance they could help save one of the most important and threatened segments of the content economy: Local News. Let’s unpack.
