Hey there War & Peaceniks - Happy End of Times Year!

This is my last post of 2021.

To celebrate this horrible no good year mercifully coming to an end, here is my (nearly) last infographic of 2021:

This chart combines data from Ampere Analytics’ SVOD and OTT trackers. (If your fave service is missing, that’s because there just isn’t enough data about them available. This makes my job hard, and makes complaints about the lack of such info a “we problem,” not a “me problem.” If you want to discuss fixing this issue so your BFF platform gets the love, hit me up.)

Beyond combining the data, and giving it a retro-Kim’s-Video feel, I also scraped usage, subscriber and ad revenue data from a bunch of recent reports, and did a deep dive into the libraries themselves (as much as possible for one small human).

So, what does this all mean?

My full analysis, more of my last series of data visualizations for the year, a gaggle of additional stats, my big takeaways, and my forecasts for winners and losers are below… for Premium (paid) Peaceniks only.
