Happy Friday Peaceniks! Ready to innovate?
As you may know, I’ve been on a tour of (parts of) the world - Nashville, Quebec, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, London, Milan, Madrid, Berlin, San Juan, Cannes, and Munich - since August. It’s been amazing to see so many wonderful places and amazing people; but all things must come to an end, and my whirlwind tour reached the finish line this week in Cannes for MIPCOM and Munich for Medientage.
This coincided with the drop of my brand new collab with Barb for a report on Total Video Viewing in The UK, which we unveiled on stage in Cannes.
In Cannes I visited with Tellycast for a recap of the UK report and the message I baked into all the presentations and appearances during my tour.
Perhaps the most rip-roaring of my powerpoint stand-up sets was the opening keynote for the Innovation Lab at MIPCOM.
In this speech/screed/rant, I accused our industry of Innovation Stagnation and a paralyzing, epic Fear of Finding Out. Below, you will find the slides from that presentation along with the narrative I delivered to the receptive, warm, and somewhat shocked standing room only crowd.
You can feel free to use these slides as you see fit. However, my sincere hope is that you utilize the images as alarm bells, to help spread the word that we all need to change, now. We must tear down our garden walls, learn to radically collaborate, and to start listening to the voice of our audience; or we will continue to face the consequences of stagnant inaction.
