It’s the third month of Christmas, and that means it’s time for ESHAP’s-Best-Bet Predictions-for-2022! Over the next three weeks, I’ll be posting my top 11 predictions for 2022 – think of it as a Dysfunctional, Jewish Advent Menorah, with a Magic Eight Ball dreidel. Contain your excitement.

Some context first. A lifetime ago, last year, I predicted that in 2021, the Creator Economy came into its own. Here’s a status report:

• Influencer Marketing Revenue will hit $14 billion in 2021.

• Up 723% since 2016.

• Patreon’s recent funding round valued the Creator platform at $4 billion.

• That’s 3X its last valuation.

• Patreon Creators earned $23.6 million, just in September.

• Up 326% since 2016.

• Tim Dillon, a great comedian you may or may not have heard of, will make $2.2 million on Patreon this year, with 440,000 subs at $5/mo/ea.

• The #173 Patreon will earn $444,000 this year: 61K subscribers at $7.23/mo/ea.

• Roblox Creators earned $130 million, just in Q2.

• Up 625% since 2018.

• In just the first half of 2021, $1.31 billion in Robux was bought on Roblox.

• That’s 2.6X purchases full-year 2018.

• Roblox is now valued more than Nintendo. Yep.

• Apple launched subscriptions for individual podcasts.

• Spotify launched subscriptions for individual podcasts.

• Addison Rae will make $5 million just from TikTok this year.

• The D'Amelios will make $7 million combined, just from TikTok.

• There are now 1 MILLION PAYING SUBS on Substack.

• The top 10 Substacks combined will earn $20 mil in revenues this year.

• That is +300% in just the last 11 months.

• Taylor Swift is currently commandeering all the revenues for her music from Big Machine, and destroying the $300 million investment professional douchebag Scooter Braun made in buying her library.

• Reese Witherspoon sold her production company for $1 billion.

• Bored Ape #8585 just sold on OpenSea for $2.7 million.

• The average Bored Ape sells for $196,000.

• CrytpoPunk #3100 sold last month for 4,200 ETH, or $2.7 million USD.

• The top 5 NFT collections are now valued at $10.2 billion combined.
